TSMC熊本工場が量産開始、政府の半導体戦略が本格始動 台湾積体電路製造（TSMC）は、熊本・菊陽町にある運営子会社のJapan Advanced Semiconductor Manufacturing（JASM）の第１工場で量産が始まったことを明らかにした。これまで日本国内で量産できていなかった、28nm以降の準先端品に相当する半導体を手がける。

TSMCの日本の生産子会社JASMが本格量産を始めたようです。
第一工場は主にソニーをサポートするためなので注文もあり、順調に稼働していくことが期待されますが、今後着工する第二工場とその先が車載向けや産業向けで順調に埋まっていくかが課題です。
半導体デバイス工場の稼働率は世界全体で70%と言われており、来年の回復が期待されています。

日本が比較的強いと言われる半導体材料に関しても先端Logicの工場を誘致する大きな意味はあるというのがこの記事が示すところ。

JASMでは製造装置だけでなく材料の調達も欠かせない。シリコンウェーハのような直接材料だけでなく、フォトマスクやフォトレジストのような間接材料も含まれる。「材料はTSMCの姉妹工場と同性能・同品質のものを使う必要があるが、国内調達できる間接材は現状、25％に留まっている。高性能な材料は日本でなく、むしろ台湾で現地製造している場合が多い」
