Heres a mini bio ref of Ekon, a zebra oc of mine. This version of Ekon is from a FoE spinoff au Name: Ekon Species: Zebra Gender: Female Pronouns: She/Her Age: 22 Bio: Ever since the balefire bombs were dropped, both the ponies and zebras have a tie in the war, as both sides have lost. Though with loss, at least there's some hope for both species to be friends. Ekon and her brother, Gamba, traveled to Equestria from a request by their leader back home, to make a peace treaty of sorts to some of the ponies there. Though once at the NCR capital, things get complicated when not only Ekon has to deal with some of the newer threats in the wasteland, she also has to deal with some still vengeful zebras. Digitalis, known as Foxxy by some of her friends, is a Zebra who was born to a Zebra father as well as a Faceless father, giving her mutant genes. Because of this she doesn't have many stripes so she is often mistaken for a Traditional Earth pony because of the very long tail, which in actuality is a trait from her Zebra Father. She wears a gas mask also like her father, as her lungs were not developed properly, though unlike her father she never takes it off. She's always loved it, and though she's gotten a few funny looks over it, she really doesn't care. She had been given the option to have an alternative respirator but refused it, preferring the mask to anything else. She doesn't talk much but it isn't because she means to be rude, the mask sometimes makes it hard for her to talk so her speech is muffled at times, she talks more through body language which she picked up from her Faceless Father who can't speak at all. Since she was young Digitalis has always loved flowers, she couldn't smell them as the mask blocked her nose however she loved to look at and touch them. Her favorite flowers of all were Foxgloves, to her they were the most beautiful of all. She was very disappointed when she found that no one else thought so, since they are very poisonous to equines; those who touch, smell or eat them are said to get very very sick. Foxxy found she was able to touch these flowers without getting hives, and since she had the gas mask, the pollen wasn't able to get into her mouth or nose. She learned that parts of the plant could be used for medical and even magical purposes, and so when she was an adult mare, she became a apothicary so she could see these beautiful flowers every day while also helping her fellow equines. She's learned to grow not only Foxgloves, but also other poisonous plants that can be used medically and magically, such as aconitum (also known wolfsbane), centarura, poison joke, and many more.

Opiate prefers to keep to himself mostly, so aside from visiting a few friends and going into Ponyville to get supplies, he is usually found in his home making potions. He comes off as rude or grumpy to most, as he usually keeps either a somber expression on his face, or if he's wearing his mask, tends to mumble his words making others think he doesn't really care to speak to them. The mask thing isn't completely his fault however, sure he isn't always into conversation but it also isn't very easy to talk with such a large apparatus on your face. He is rather smart when it comes to potions and the like, he's studied much in his lifetime and has learned many things, and he's also very curious about stuff he doesn't know about. He isn't always so gracious about it however, he is considered arrogant by some as he has an egotistical streak. He is very cocky and HATES being wrong, stubbornly accepting any challenge given to him and arguing the facts until his logic is exhausted. Regardless of this however, he does have friends and is very close to one the ones he has. They often come to him for advice as he is considered rather wise by them, he isn't what you'd call old, but he is well traveled. Opiate is not without fear, due to the events that lead to his disfigurement, he has post traumatic stress disorder. Most nights he awakes in a cold sweat, the nightmare of loosing his wife playing over and over in his mind. He has frequent anxiety attacks as well, especially when he is around a pony performing magic, that is part of the reason why he wears his gas mask so often around others even though he doesn't like it all that much, it hides his expressions. His anxiety attacks can at times be rather violent, feeling like a deep pain in his chest triggering the horrible memories, causing him to thrash around in anger. He does his best to keep this away from his close friends but a few of them have witnessed his night terrors.
Opiate grew up under his former name, Jericho, and for the most part his life was great back then. His younger years were spent with his parents and younger sister, he was an over achiever in school and dreamed of becoming something great. He had a big interest for Alchemy and potions, loving to mix ingredients to see what sort of effects they may have on one another. He earned top marks in potions class, and was often the center of many arguments of who would be partnered with him for projects. He always choose the same mare when he could though, a cute little filly named Scarlet who wasn't too good with the subject. She preferred the Spellcasting class, loving to perform and combine spells. She needed a partner who could help her get good marks and he enjoyed her company, this was really the only interaction he had with fillies his age. Though they were very different from one another, they found that they worked well together, eventually mixing the fillies magic ability with Opiate's potion making prowess. Their chemistry was so great both metaphorically and physically that they eventually started dating, then married and had a child. After growing up into a handsome young stallion, Opiate wanted to shed his old nerdy persona, renaming himself Opiate to reflect his special talents, a trend amongst most Equestrian residence. His old name was given to their child, Jericho Junior. Opiate and his wife continued their work together as well as their own personal projects, Opiates being an invisibility serum and Scarlet's was an experiment to combine two specific fire spells together, something that had not been done before. They were happy with their lives and so was their son, until the unthinkable happened. Her spell was complete, but it backfired, destroying her in the process, with their son no where to be found. Opiate woke up in the hospital, broken and disfigured, the only thing allowing him to breathe, the gas mask.
Meet Opiate! I believe he was the first pony with a gas mask that I fell in love with, and I was super excited to be able to buy him off his original owner. <3 Art by me, more info in both ALTs!
