I considered giving her half-siblings before I played through EW, though! Ritozo's legitimate children in Old Sharlayan, born after the Calamity. In the end, I decided there was enough going on for Zozori. So Ritozo remains an unhappy, lonely, angry professor.

For Zozori, she has three:
Cutter's Cry in ARR. She spent days stuck in there, lost and alone.
St Mociane's post-HW. That's her Pa's work. It's like a look in her own heart.
The Altaiascope in EW. Making peace with her own death.

Zozori would be legitimately horrified. She thinks she'd be a terrible mother/spouse- would even go as far as abandoning them and obscuring the kid's parentage.
She knew Memetero wanted a family. It's part of why she was so reluctant to let things develop between them...

Zozori was born in the Sharlayan Colony, just before they evacuated! Her record of birth was found by Memetero with help from Matoya, Twilight Dew, and the other salvagers in Idyllshire. Before that Zozori hadn't been sure of her birthday.

Not by other kids! Zozori was the stranger rushing in to defend a bigger kid being bullied by even bigger kids (and getting in trouble for it.)
Zozori has a type, but it's "cute, competent, and was nice to me twice in a row" so it's like, half the cast of the game. She's hopeless.
BUT girl's ace and doesn't really have a distinguisher between platonic/romantic, so she just has a lot of friends and unrealized crushes. 😩

Zozori was ruthlessly drilled in the basics as a wee thing, but never quite grasped it. She didn't really learn to read until The Falling Snows.

So the secret is, Zozori crushes FAST and HARD and way more often than anyone (including herself) realizes.
She enjoys the butterflies! Leans into it, being friendly, helping often, little gifts and favors.

Zozori used to have longer hair! The short hairstyle was born after Ifrit (singed off a lot of it). Z's kept it conveniently short ever since, with a little help from glamours.

Zozori is capital-F Friendly. Cheery, empathetic, down-to-earth. She can cheer up anyone. Leave her alone for an hour and she'll have three new friends, a quest reward meal in hand, and a minion at her heels.

Zozori always refers to her parents as "Ma" and "Pa." Usually "MY Ma/Pa," with respect, with fondness, with care. Like a kid SHOULD do.
She's always loved her Ma and Pa! Nameday and Starlight presents every year- really tried to be a good and helpful kid.

She does enjoy aetheryte travel too. Exhilarating!

But Z won't call them "hers" or "home." Mostly that means "willing to leave personal belongings there."
I say this every couple of weeks, I know. Z is minimum height lala. Every "I thought you'd be taller" is the funniest thing for me.
Makes interacting with lala NPCs really fun sometimes. This character is a hunk by lala standards. A Big Guy. Just so you know.

#zozorilore is canonically an almost-omnicrafter (no CUL); her first DoH skill was Weaver. But thematically, it's Leatherworker! Take the butchery, honor it, put it to use and make it last, nothing wasted.
#zozorilore Zozori has an unremarkable "Eorzean" accent, leaning toward a lower-class drawl.
In-game this is voiced either fantasy-cockney or fantasy-scottish... But I imagine a more Southern US lilt.
Oddly, when she's talking to Sharlayans™️, the accent gets notably WORSE.
Zozori is my Star: the symbol of hope in the night, the small, brilliant light that guides others.
Reversed, she's nearly overcome by her own darkness and doubt, pointing others to love and security she feels barred from.

Zozori is a gifter. She'll fix armor, sharpen weapons, attach materia. "Anonymous" nameday and Starlight presents, or just little trinkets when the mood strikes her. Things she can do with her own hands, not purchases!

She started keeping a diary in ARR: mostly pidgin, drawings, and pasted-in quest logs or souveneirs. She couldn't really write or read at the time. This isn't uncommon in Eorzea, so there's lots of notes from other people
If it's thick and savory, Zozori adores it. Stew, curry, pibil, udon, even mushloaf.
Green salad does not spark joy. She gets to eat so much better food now- roughage isn't worth it. And bone/shell-less seafood is getting left on the plate! Rubbery yuck.
