Swalwell is done. The question is who picks up his support in the governor's race. If his voters splinter half a dozen ways, there's a risk of the GOP winning both slots in CA's idiotic jungle primary. Ballots don't go out for almost a month, so there's time to avoid a disaster.

Swalwell's endorsers are fleeing (Gallego, Gomez, CTA) and I don't expect him to get much grace. CA Dems were already frustrated that no one would quit the gov race. Swalwell jumped in fairly late (after Porter's gaffe) with this sword of Damocles hanging over him

CA voter & political observer here: Swalwell needs to drop out. The choices after that are bleak -- Steyer and Porter have huge negatives, Mahan is a techno/crypto puppet, and Becerra just hasn't caught fire. On substance, I'd vote for Becerra, but on strategy, that's dangerous. Dems need 1 in top 2

This week 24 Dems are still in the CA Gov race. Ballots for the primary go out in early May. If some with no real path to winning don’t drop out soon they could pull enough votes from the leading Dems that the top 2 Republicans will be the only names on the ballot.
