Glad to see Pelosi, Schiff, and others call for Swalwell to drop out. Absolutely the right call after these allegations. What a mess.
Holy crap, @allysammarco.bsky.social, wife of @adamparkhomenko.bsky.social, is one of the brave women speaking out here.
No question about it: Swalwell must resign— not just from the governor’s race, but from the House entirely. He’s done.
Democrats reaction to the Swalwell story is appropriate.
If he was a Republican, he’s go up at least 5 points with their primary voters.
As to the Swalwell report:
1. The truth should be worked out via legal process.
2. Dems can't have anyone facing such allegations as a candidate.
3. MAGAs wouldn't care about this; that's immaterial.
4. Politics is informing how some folks are responding; that's also immaterial.

Maybe I'm reading too much into it, but the very good CNN piece on Swalwell seems to be strongly implying something even-worse than what it explicitly alleges (which is already a career-destroying level of bad) edition.cnn.com/2026/04/10/u...
There is no place in our country or the Democratic Party for those who abuse women and girls. I stand with the courageous survivor who shared her story. Congressman Swalwell must leave the Governor’s race immediately.
All of these awful, damning reports make me think about how Swalwell's whole "pass the torch" campaign moment was him basically demanding to be president. Super entitled and gross.

The letter fragment I've seen from Swalwell's attorney threatening defamation bears several things that, in my experience in this area, makes me immediately suspicious of Swalwell and his attorney and reflect meritless thuggery.

I’m deeply disturbed and disappointed by the new allegations against Congressman Swalwell.
We stand with survivors and hold people accountable. It takes courage to come forward.
I withdraw my endorsement.
watching accountability come for Swalwell and everyone drop him
I'm just thinking about what happens when you have a movement that refuses to hold people accountable for horrible things? it naturally attracts more horrible people, something people should think on, leave shit get flies.
As I was saying 18 days ago: If you don’t believe the four women who spoke to CNN about Swalwell because of the “timing,” this is how it happens.
Rumors online beget tips to reporters beget weeks of vetting and legal and fact-checking. If you don’t believe, it’s because you don’t want to.
Swalwell is done. The question is who picks up his support in the governor's race. If his voters splinter half a dozen ways, there's a risk of the GOP winning both slots in CA's idiotic jungle primary. Ballots don't go out for almost a month, so there's time to avoid a disaster.
BREAKING: three *more* women have come forward to @cnn.com and accuse Rep. Eric Swalwell of sexual misconduct, including Swalwell sending them unsolicited explicit messages or nude photos:

This part right here is gross & not in Swalwell's favor.
There's an IMBALANCE OF POWER - & an individual young woman working in politics would not be believed & would be hounded out of the field if she told. So yes, they still asked for letters of rec & tried to pretend nothing happened!
It's notable to me that Swalwell's backers and supporters are INSTANTLY fleeing him, not fooling around with "this is troubling let's see." It makes me wonder whether he already had a bad rep -- whether this was instantly credible to people familiar with him.
Absolutely awful stuff; Swalwell needs to quit the governor's race and public life.
Swalwell needs to withdraw from the California gubernatorial primary.
If the allegations against Swalwell are true, he could potentially be charged criminally
Trump has been looking for a way to prosecute all his enemies. Don't be surprised if the DOJ opens an investigation into this mess
Four women
“One member of Swalwell’s staff said they quit immediately after receiving CNN’s detailed list of questions about the allegations.”

While many of you are likely yelling "GO SWALWELL" or "GO STEYER!" I'm yelling "GO ROBERT MUELLER and the rule of law!"
