Shoalstone, Brixham, Devon. 12.40. Red-necked Grebe showing well, albeit a tad distantly, roughly in the direction of Thatcher Rock. Nice find by Josh M - thanks for the use of your scope, mate 👍. Thanks to Mike P for the info. #DevonBirds #UKBirding @rarebirder.bsky.social @birdguides.bsky.social

Pleased to find a Turtle Dove today in the more rural part of Brixham whilst looking at how the Skylarks were getting on.
Also a really nice Hobby low and close in the same field and 2 Shelduck flying over with 1 returning from that direction a little later

For historic reasons on this platform. Woodlark nest and eggs in winter sown crop 12/03 Southern England. Unique in this country. It’s now unsuitable to be monitored. Incredible sp. to study. The interaction and behaviour of the nesting birds an absolute privilege to witness. #ukbirding

I’ve spent 10 years of my life studying the breeding behaviour of Anthus Trivalis.

The amazing artwork of @clennonvalley.bsky.social kindly providing the reference for birding Tattooist Tess from Divine Ink Totnes to execute this. Thank you both 💙
