The rangers have restored the natural barriers in the Woodland Walk - an essential conservation tool that is used to support soil, plants, and biodiversity 🐞

By keeping the barrier intact, we all help give the plants and wildlife time to recover and thrive in this special corner of the park 🍃

The pitch and putt course is temporarily closed. This is so renovations can take place, which will improve the course conditions and playability.

There will be no access to the public at this time. We appreciate your cooperation. ⛳

Habitat piles are popping up in our woodland... but why?🧐

These natural barriers control the movement of visitors, and are put in place to reduce soil compaction. By minimising it our team are allowing the woodland understorey to regenerate🏵️

This #IDWGS, we heard from our Ranger, Louis, about science in open spaces:

"When you're dealing with nature, you need patience, and to show it love. Women have skills the sector needs... I'm currently monitoring invertebrates to understand whether the woodland areas are ecologically effective."
