In Which I Am Unhinged…
Someone asked in the comments of my last doll house post that since the doll house was in kit form, and some time had passed (like thirty years), if I still had all the bits. I was proud to say that I do. And I could find them first shot. I had opened each magazine as they…

Sometimes, life sucks. Then it sucks more.
I've been blessed with good health. Times might get tough being caregiver to my husband and son, but I've been able to keep going. Well, now that's not quite true. Warning: medical bits and pieces to follow. Also generalized rant about the medical…
Milanese Wessex Owl
I recently finished another piece of Milanese lace, the Wessex Owl designed by Jan Gardiner and sold through Lacewing Designs. All of the Milanese pieces I’ve made before have been designs by Claire Bonito – who announced last week that she has a Milanese book coming out soon…

Delayed Doll House
I wonder how many people out there remember the Del Prado doll house from the '90s? It came out as a part work (which meant you didn't realize just how damn expensive the thing was). But at the end you would have this beautiful doll house with all the bits and pieces, furniture,…

a whole lot of businesspeople learning in real time that a predictable and stable regulatory state - even if you don’t like some of the regulations - is vastly preferable to “boss man doesn’t like you so you’re fucked now”

You can become disabled or homeless at any time.
They aren’t moral failings.
You can’t “just try harder”.
All it takes is one accident, one illness, one catastrophic event and your life changes forever.
It’s a minority group you can join at any time.

One of my favorite feelings in life is to be completely lost when trying to learn something new and then suddenly you feel it all lock into place when you realise you understand more than you don't. All those connections being made in the background. Feels amazing.

Happy Tuesday! We had overcast skies again today so I've dug deep down into the 4th place coffee shop vote-getter from last Thursday. My bin is getting empty so we better get good weather tomorrow morning! Tap for full size. I hope you have a great day!

Sunlight falls across the textured stone walls of a narrow alley in Dublin, framed by a dark brick archway. A few people walk through the passage while a modern glass building rises beyond, contrasting old stone with contemporary lines.
