Two weeks ago, MAIGE group leader @brianfclarke.bsky.social and Katharina, together with Dominik (Steinmetz lab) joined #Perturb2026, exploring new technologies and datasets. Highlight: Katharina’s first short talk on large-scale perturbation screens in cardioids and great discussions at our poster!

I am very happy to share that I've started my new position @upcite.bsky.social and opened my lab @institutimagine.bsky.social 🎉
In the lab we will study how differences in X-linked gene dosage between the sexes affect fetal growth and survival and contribute to sex differences later in life 👩‍🔬🧪🧬🧫
His Royal Highness Prince William is talking with Edith Heard, who is to his left, inside a well-lit building entrance. They are both smiling and walking towards the camera.
His Royal Highness Prince William Is sitting at a round table with a group of students. They are all wearing safety glasses, and he is holding a pipette. There is a variety of scientific instruments in the middle of the table.
His Royal Highness Prince William is sitting in front of a microscope wearing a lab coat. He is laughing while looking towards someone to his left, also in a lab coat. They are both inside a large white room.
His Royal Highness Prince William stands next two Edith heard, both with arms folded across their front. He is facing and talking to three other people inside a well-lit building entrance.
Thanks to His Royal Highness Prince William for visiting the Crick today to explore how education, research and innovation are helping to deliver benefits in the UK and across the world – from antimicrobial resistance to the biology underlying our mental health.

You're most welcome. Have a nice weekend.
For me the most important take-home message was that different people can reach (extraordinarily) different interpretations/conclusions from the same set of data. If only more Discussion sections read "We observed X. It could mean A. Or B. Or C. Or D."...
I've read and enjoyed your papers on the topic, which were much more science and less personal attacks. I worry that equating Tony to RFK Jr and other such shenanigans will make folks less likely to read said papers.
I trust that the many intelligent folks on the EMBL Council who appointed Tony can spot a charlatan a mile away.
