Steady progress. Small wins. One session at a time. Another transition unlocked tonight. 🛹

Find someone who looks at you the way our resident pheasant looks at grain. 😍

Hamstring rehab continues — physio, patience and very gentle miles.
Just about keeping pace with this little chap 🐌

Daughter went roaming with one of my vintage Polaroid cameras for her GCSE graphics project.
Loving the light on these shots.

Volunteering some time for the Freshwater Skatepark exhibition this afternoon — a series of boards exploring the history of skateboarding on the Isle of Wight, from Shide Ramp to Golden Hill, alongside pieces from John Cattle and Canopy Skatepark.
Two weeks in and it’s showing signs of improvement. I’ll see how it goes (I’m stubborn too) but may well end up seeing a PT — I know great one that sorted out two torn rotator cuffs a couple of years ago.
March looked like this:
Distance: 137km (85.1 miles)
Longest run: 9.95km (6.18 miles)
Average run: 5.51km (3.42 miles)
Average pace: 5’49 /km (9’22 /mile)
Fastest km: 4’58 /km (7’59 /mile)
Ah, hamstring strain… we meet again. The month started well — then KABLAMMO 💥
Distance and speed have gone out the window — focus is now on recovery: more rest days, shorter runs, slower pace, and some gentle (and extremely boring) strength work.

For a brief moment on this morning’s run, the sky was on fire 🔥
One of the bonuses to getting out early.

Sunday evening sketchbook scribble: Totland Bay Old Lifeboat House.

Given I pulled my hamstring skateboarding last week I probably should taken a rest this week but decided some gentle carving couldn’t hurt.
Now just following some gentle stretching, strengthening exercises for the hamstring — it’s not the first time I’ve done this!
Always open to advice!
Hamstring rehab: Carve mode activated 🛹

15 minutes early for a logo presentation… just enough time for some people watching and a few quick sketchbook scribbles.

PART TWO: Wind. Point. Shoot. Repeat.
It was always going to be a bit of an experiment. This 60-year-old Ricoh Half Frame camera was something of an unknown….

February looked like this:
Distance: 171 km (106.3 miles)
Longest run: 10.09 km (6.27 miles)
Average run: 7.34 km (4.56 miles)
Average pace: 5’31 /km (8’54 /mile)
Fastest km: 4’21 /km (7’00 /mile)
February: one very long puddle.
A month of sideways rain, flooded roads and footpaths and the odd, all-too-brief glimpse of sunshine. But the weekday morning runs are finally ending in daylight — and despite the weather, still got out there.

And I love it when a brief gives me an excuse to crack open the crayons and get involved in some illustration.
A little sneak peek from the studio…
Every now and then a wave of related projects land together — and lately it’s been all things farming, food and feed. I’m working on some delicious branding jobs at the moment.

The backstreets of Sheffield captured on a 1984 Polaroid Supercolor 600.
Graffiti done well brings a city to life — and I love the way instant film gives it extra soul.

Logo design, packaging, signage, digital assets — a wide-ranging brief, and incredibly rewarding to bring it all together into one cohesive identity.
