I finally got around to switching my desktop to Xlibre. I went with a combo of Artix, Mate, and OpenRC. So far no issues and was as easy as installing any other distro.

After a few months of providing testing ISO images with @xlibredev.bsky.social and receiving positive feedback, we have also switched our weekly ISO build workflow to XLibre.
Xorg is still provided and users can easily switch back to it should they encounter problems or just prefer so.

Could you please provide a source for your claim that the creator of XLibre was banned for submitting breaking patches to Xorg?
We are currently working closely with the ghostbsd.org maintainers to fix the remaining minor bugs and get their 26.01 release out.
