Photo of Earth from space (credit: NASA). Embedded in image is the orange colored Monarch (Danaus plexippus) taking nectar from the pink tubular flowers of Showy Milkweed (Asclepias speciosa). This is a planting from our yard here in western Montana. The limiting factor for this butterfly is the landscape lacks milkweed plants...plant some today. Similar stories for lesser known species. Barack Obama said it best: "Change will not come if we wait for some other person or some other time. We are the ones we've been waiting for. We are the change that we seek". Be part of the solution!

I'm a couple days early for this proclamation, but thought it could be a catalyst for action. Consider planting flowers that benefit pollinators (butterflies, bees, etc.). Don't need to tell you that Monarch populations (and host of lesser known species) have fallen dramatically. Be a solution.
