My favourite thing about today’s lesson… how many students said “practicing subtraction wasn’t as scary as it usually is!” and “can we do more tomorrow?” What a teaching win! 🎉
New year, late start to posting! Our Gr 3/4’s were excited about our new subtraction practice! We build 5 tens using pipe cleaners and beads. We write 50 at the top and roll two 6-sided dice and subtract the total by moving the beads. What if we don’t have enough beads on a group of 10? We borrow!
We finished our Gr3 #EQAO today. During the questionnaire my students were shocked by “the rudest question ever!” The statement said “Only certain people are good at math.” The gasps & outrage echoed through our room… ♥️ I’m so proud and thankful that a group of kids know ANYONE can be good at #math!
