The pope could have overruled the u.s. trans healthcare ban immediately. He did not. This lines up with his own extensive history of anti-queer/anti-trans bigotry.
Also: the bishops' ban vote was 206-7 in favor. Not some narrow conservative victory, but the consensus of the church hierarchy.

The last general election put the Liberals into a strong minority position, poor CPC and NDP leadership lead to floor crossings, and three byelections resulted in a majority. What the ever living hell is Scheer on about? Pot this is kettle, black, over. π€¨
"Hope is not a plan, and nostalgia is not a strategy" is, I'll admit, a pretty good tag line, @mark-carney.bsky.social. I'll give Carney one thing, he is a talented orator. I don't agree with many of his actions gutting our public service, but he is certainly the best option available at the moment.
I just saw someone proclaim that people who use one pedal driving are the kind of people who view their car as an appliance. Frankly, I resent the implication. I *enjoy* driving my car, and I enjoy one pedal driving. Just because I enjoy one pedal driving doesn't mean that I view my car differently.
Conscript armies are renowned for being dedicated and motivated. I always wished that my troops were conscripts... π«
To call this ableist bullshit would be to understate the insidiousness of this statement. People do not make the choice to be too unwell to work. Were I able to work, I would. Disability is not a fucking choice. And it can strike down the healthiest, strongest, and fittest among us with no notice.
Cheddar lies on grey pants being hemmed and a sewing machine can be seen to his right, just behind him. He is looking upwards and to the right.

Paddlin' the school canoe? You better believe that's a paddlin'.
I'd have been more impressed if she'd gone full Ghengis Khan in the sporting goods store from Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure π
Oddly enough, I saw a couple of Skytrain cars last week... On the TCH in the middle of Saskatchewan... I think they got lost... Great pic π§‘
A very frazzled looking Drew wearing a grey tank top with red round framed glasses.
New glasses for a frazzled looking lady! π Glasses are... not inexpensive...
Found some very interesting info in Paul Rowe's service records so far... He *almost* landed at Dieppe (his landing craft was held back 1.5 miles off shore), and he arrived in Normandy on 7 July 1944. He was wounded in Feb 1945, left the army on 16 Oct 45, and made his Stamps debut 31 Oct 45.
Okay, so @library-archives.canada.ca just made my day. My ATIP request for Stampeders legend Paul Rowe's WW2 service records just came through, so I know what I'll be doing for the rest of the day, digging through those!
There's only one person who can get Bluesky working again
The other side of this that I'm trying to figure out is *how* it makes any sense to evacuate the neighbourhood. Pretty much every other active shooter type situation I can think of, they have people shelter in place, how does it make any sense to have people go stand on a sidewalk? π€

Proclamation of the Constitution Act, 1982
Happy anniversary to the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms!
Enacted on April 17, 1982, when Queen Elizabeth II signed the Proclamation of the Constitution Act, 1982, it helps ensure all Canadians can live free from discrimination.

Chewy sits and looks up towards the camera. She is wearing a pink tiara on her head and a pearl necklace with a pink heart-shaped pendant. She is fluffy, with white fur on her chest, chin, and parts of her cheeks, and orange fur everywhere else.

I thought for a minute that they had already signed Ajou Ajou. I guess that comes later in the season...
Memorial in the form of an inukshuk at the boardwalk of Kandahar Airfield
On this day in 2002, a bomb dropped in error spilled the 1stCanadian blood on the soil of Kandahar, Afghanistan. Sgt Marc Daniel Leger. Cpl Ainsworth Dyer. Pte Richard Green. Pte Nathan Smith. The first of many. At the going down of the sun, and in the morning, we will remember them. Lest we forget.

Well, I already flip off Cybertrucks, but if I see a black wrapped one in town, I'll flip it off extra hard...
While you make a valid point, he could be less visible, and talk less...
There's a reason why for much of what I do, I go to archives and places like newspapers.com. I like to find my own sources, and am skeptical of much of what comes up in search engines when it comes to historical research.
Didn't bookmark, but used them regularly! Altavista was my go to, followed by Metacrawler and Hotbot, doing a cross reference between results πThe modern web makes some things too easy, and not in a good way. And then there was my trusted favourite Encarta...
Fair enough π I guess it was akin to being a fan of Hotbot or Altavista instead of Metacrawler.
Worth noting that Nov. 18, 2025, was the same day as the Saskatchewan Roughriders parade through downtown Regina.
