this is just to say
I have eaten
the oreos
that were in
the cabinet
and which
you probably
expected
to last much longer
But hey
they are chametz
I did you a favor
you're welcome

A photograph of an iPad with the Procreate app open and an illustration of an alien news broadcast featuring an orange snail alien with brown hair and a graphic of the planet earth. An Apple Pencil rests on the edge of the ipad.
Dang, that is a sweet earth, you might say. ROUND!

Ah, the simple joys of a perfectly ripe banana. ❤️🍌
I've been thinking about the color associations lately (blame Hanukkah, I guess), and musing on the color yellow. We use it for support and solidarity, and in Jewish spaces, it's often been a color thrust upon us by oppressors. But despite that, we echo it in messages of hope and perseverance.
Is it just me or does the Queen of Hearts look like @miriamanzovin.bsky.social
I had the lovely experience of chatting with some Scouts tonight about entrepreneurship, writing, and illustrating. ❤️ #scouting #meritbadge

I’m Cold, so you get sweaters. It's Mom Thermodynamics.

Husband: Imagine the Grinch in a Jewish Who's home, grabbing a plate of gefilte fish and going, "What the heck is this?"
Me: You don't eat gefilte fish on Hanukkah.
Husband: YOU EAT GEFILTE FISH ON EVERY HOLIDAY.
It's on its way to me!
Had my own little "lunch and learn" today and attended the amazing discussion on @miriamudel.bsky.social 's new book on Yiddish #kidlit with Miriam and @marjorieingall.bsky.social hosted by the YIVO institute. Thank you so much for an inspirational and delightful hour!

May the one who creates peace on high bring peace to us and to all Israel.
The Hostage and Missing Families Forum has been supporting individuals and families since the beginning of this war and has been relentless in their goal to bring the hostages home. 19 individuals' bodies remain in Gaza. The work has not stopped. stories.bringthemhomenow.net

Lastly - Be civil and nice in the comments, should feel the need to leave one. This call to action does not negate or diminish any of the other suffering happening around the world, in Yemen, Lebanon, Syria, or anywhere else.
If you can't give directly, please share this thread - but more importantly, talk to your people. It's so easy to forget the victims of a tragedy once the media cycle has deemed it "resolved" and moved on, while the reality is that these individuals and their families need our continual support.
We all breathed a giant sigh of relief earlier this week, but I encourage you to support ongoing recovery of the hostages. They have long roads ahead, whether they came home two years ago or five days ago. There are medical concerns and psychological trauma that need to be addressed.

Hey all - Shabbat Shalom. I'm back and trying to be more intentional with my social media use.
I wanted to do the Librarian Thing and share some information that I think is important. 🧵
Doing my Friday afternoon grocery run, and this Friday is a payday.
Destiny's Child's Bills, Bills, Bills plays on the intercom.
I feel like this shouldn't be allowed.
I've been listening to a lot of 90s stuff recently with my kiddos, and my son has developed a love for Fastball's The Way (❤️).
My daughter is concerned about the fate of the children in the second verse.
"But what if they get hungry and can't drive anywhere because they don't know!"
So anyway if you're out here on the internet staring at all this YouTube videos claiming they have the secret to "finishing" a sketchbook, you have my permission to ignore that BS.
Sketchbooks are tools.
I wonder if this is an evolution of peers in MS/HS walking up to you while you draw and asking to see your sketchbook, as if it were your perfectly polished portfolio. I tore more pages out of sketchbooks as a kid because I didn't want my peers to see my mistakes. Thankfully I grew out of that.
Expecting sketchbooks to eventually be "finished" is contrary to their purpose.
Sketchbooks are tools used to practice, doodle, and refine ideas. They're scratch paper pads or composition notebooks filled with random stories and poems and half-baked ideas.
