I try to visit Studland on the anniversary, but sadly won't make it down this year. So will be pausing by the apple tree to take a moment to remember.

Paused to check bubbles of blossom just beginning. I'm not sure if this tree IS the one planted in 1937, but every year the blossom is a herald of spring, and it's a joy to watch the flowers appear #Aldbourne

My first visit to Aldbourne was in 1963. We were apparently on the way to my grandparents near Swindon. I was in a carrycot. Dad always said he drove through the snow. Surely not those snow drifts! Never thought I'd live here, much less write about the village history. Funny how things turn out.

Printing blocks made during the 1970s/early 1980s for postcards showing work by Ann Sullivan. Possibly for Aldbourne Civic Society. These images are created from photos of the plates, flipped and tweaked into black and white with digital magic.

A postcard with an Ann Sullivan signature presumably printed from the wooden and copper blocks. But there are some differences which may be down to the blocks being worn from use.

Wood and copper printing plates featuring sketches of Aldbourne by Ann Sullivan, who lived in Aldbourne during the 1970s and 1980s. I'm guessing made back in the 1970s (but not 100% sure). Now I know how the postcards were made if not exactly when!

Image: A photo of open countryside with fields, trees, hedgerows, the occasional building, and some low, rolling hills. In the centre, and in the near distance, there is a tree in some sheep pasture, casting a long, early morning shadow while around a couple of dozen sheep are gathered beneath its leafy boughs.
