It's the heat that wakes Lysithea up. Her skin is sticky with sweat caused by the sheet clinging uncomfortably to her skin and her stupidly clingy husband who insists on curling around her even while they sleep. She considers throwing a miasma in his face to teach him a lesson for holding her when it's the height of summer in Almyra, but she's getting soft because there's a small voice in the back of her heading chiding her to let him rest. She hates sappiness. She hates it when Claude acts like it. She hates it when he talks like it. But more than anything she hates when her traitorous heart feels it. Against every instinct she's devloped over her long and visious life, she doesn't squirm out of his grip to escape the heat. Instead she lets her feelings guide her to grab Claude's hand and bring it her her lips to press a kiss to one of the many scars adorning his knuckles.
