Saturday’s aborted run. Wasn’t feeling it at the end.

Sunday’s run went much better.

Sunday’s run went much better.

Do-over day. Late, late winter storms socked us last week and I lost 2 days of midweek runs. Friday was ok, but Saturday’s long run was a disaster. I blame the whole bagel&PB I consumed beforehand. Sunday was the do-over and was fine. Only 1/4 bagel consumed. #running #runsky #runningpunks

A lovely mossy boulder with a face. I walked past this venerable stone gentleman on Dartmoor when I was beginning to write my first novel, Villager, and it whispered all 104,000 words of the book to me. So now I have to pay it all of my royalties. Unfortunately my ex-publisher stopped paying me royalties last year. Understandable, the boulder was not happy. But now I have a new publisher and the book has been republished. So remember if you purchase a copy you will be helping a boulder to eat, pay the rent on his riverside moss garden, and feed his boulder family.

Yes it could be argued that keeping up with world events is important but alternatively can I interest you in hugging an ancient mossy boulder that looks like a face and quietly listening while it tells you stories from centuries cloaked in mist.

Seems like the corner has turned to Spring here. Lots of folks out on the paths and trails. Now it’s a glorious afternoon. Have a great weekend! #runsky #running #runningpunks

Now the teenager is blasting the This Is What You Want, This Is What You Get album while in the shower. That album is carved in my brain.

Chicago running! Forgot to turn left and had to backtrack quite a bit to get back over the canal into the n’hood we’re staying. Excellent spring weather. Staying at Martin Atkins’ (PiL, Killing Joke, Ministry) airbnb! #running #runsky #runningpunks

My Garmin-coach-appointed day to run a HM dawned really dark and foggy yesterday. I responded with running errands and a long nap. Today was a different story, and I nailed a new PB by 17 minutes! Also spotted a new cafe for a post-run latte. Win win. #running #runsky #runningpunks

Oopsie. On the taper before next weekend’s HM. Ran my plan’s 40 min base then tacked on another 20 min for a 10k. Once the plan was satisfied, put the metal down and earned a new PB. #running #runsky #runningpunks

I got my sideways sleet run in before work. Before it got *really* gross.

Sprint intervals into sideways sleet this morning. What’s that on the Beaufort scale? Love these late season winter storms. #running #runsky #runningpunks

It was dark and warm enough for shorts and tshirt. Good, sweaty threshold session. By the end of the week I’ll be back in double or triple layers. Gotta love Spring. #running #runsky #runningpunks

Sunny day. Long run. Lots of dogs and hoomans were out and about. I had completely forgotten about today’s time change, which was fun. Tried a new route that I like to switch it up for longer runs.

Have a great week!

Today was a signal to my Garmin coach to STFU. After yesterday’s aborted long run due to constant nagging on high HR, I shifted back to pace monitoring. Today dawned cold, bright and icy. And I ran my course the way I wanted. Have an epic week, folks. #runsky #running #runningpunks #greatplaylist

A shorter long run today. Which was ok since we’ve been dragged back into winter. It was a ‘cold’ 30F compared to the ‘warm’ 30F earlier this week. Saw a few other runners since I slept in for an extra hour. Gave a nice fist bump 👊🏻 to a passing one. #running #runsky #runningpunks
