I have this toxic trait, where if I cook something from scratch then it is automatically considered healthy. 😅 #cooking

Economic facts are stronger than politics, especially if the politics are so much mixed up with corruption as in America.

Did you folks see that Big Gretch filmed an episode of financial audit with Caleb Hammer?! Can't wait to see it!

I'd never heard of Eugene V. Debs before! Upon a brief Google search, he was an American labor leader, socialist, and political activist. He was responsible for helping organize railroad unions, he lead the Pullman strike, and ran for president from a prison cell.

"A few who will lose a lot tend to be more politically influential than many who will gain a little. This remains true even if the total gains of the many outweigh the losses of the few."

#CurrentlyReading Tender is the Flesh! I can't find the right word to describe it: deranged, insane, demonic, etc. None of them seem to fit. Looking forward to reading it.

I'm sorry to hear that! You have some super cute stuff. I think the economic uncertainty is limiting people's purchasing, unfortunately.

I love this! Did you knit them in tubes to avoid steeking?

Finally getting around to reading this book after seeing @balint.house.gov post about it, many months ago. Such a great way to provide a brief overview of tyranny and its history.

That makes sense! I would only apply this logic to those in the regime though. For normal citizens, I would recommend using the Two Handed Non Violence Approach.

This is an interesting point! At a nonviolence training tonight, we discussed that publicly humiliating figures in power can be a beneficial tool as authoritarian regimes often think highly of themselves. These humiliating tactics can reduce their egos and their power if done consistently.

Is there any hope for the internet? The author of the new book ‘Attention and Alienation’ wonders if the online world can ever become a place where kindness and human flourishing are the prevailing ethos.

The ability to meet and interact with others online as fully realized, three-dimensional human beings would go a long way toward creating a more empathetic, cooperative internet, according to sociologist @sushiaarushi.bsky.social

Work requirements hurt poor people AND are a waste of money.

Arkansas spent $26 million on administrative costs for work requirements — and saw no increase in employment.

Georgia’s program cost $40 million in one year — 80% of that went to administrative and consulting costs.

I would opt to keep going and make the large shawl! Then find a complementary color to knit the socks in.

Do you have pictures of the shawl so we can see how big it is for context?

This is super exciting to see! I've had a Kobo for a couple of years and I've been waiting for more authors to switch.

Just type it in a Google search! Looks like it's available through Barnes and Noble, Amazon, Kobo, etc. Unless this is an older edition? Lmk!

What are the perfume girlies using to wash their clothes? I want my clothes to smell good, but I don't want it to conflict with whatever scent I wear that day.
