A photograph of a Common Crane looking towards the camera with the words: "Record year for Scotland's tallest bird!"
The Crane, Scotland's tallest bird, had a record breeding season in 2025!
After going extinct in Scotland due to habitat loss and hunting around 400 years ago, Cranes naturally recolonised an area of Aberdeenshire and first attempted breeding in 2012.
