Making good out of something bad. Proceeds from Chantey sales until new years will go to research on childhood life-threatening diseases.
So much for putting indies front and center I suppose.
They've made some amendments after I checked them via email after finding out (way before going myself public and giving them time to respond, a courtesy not extended to me). But those are a little too late - damage is done. Their initial statement is being regurgitated across the web already.
The mos egregious thing however is that this statement was then released in public, and shared with hundreds of media outlets, before they even talked things over with me.
Apart from that, they told people on the retraction video statement that their values made them not want any association with ModRetro (basically implying I have none, as I am working with them as my publisher).
I appreciate the discussion and support. What makes this atrocious in my pov is how the IGAs decided to handle the whole thing. Imply they knew about the game from way back, and becoming aware of the fact after the ceremony aired (as if they only knew about the game from itch and the compo)
