My favorite that makes me giggle: pressure storage. Pressurize old salt caves and let the air out to run a turbine. Sounds insane, and it is, but it works well enough and it's used TODAY!

My favorite for effectiveness: gravity storage. Pump water up a hill and let it flow back down to run a generator. Almost no loss. Don't have a hill? Dig a hole and throw a big weight down there like an elevator.
What really gets me is that people are ignoring other forms of energy storage that we've had for decades and currently use! The grid doesn't have constant demand but power stations are effectively constant supply, meaning we need extra energy storage to smooth out the spikes in demand.
I'd love to try this with the new Switch 2 controllers.

This is all excellent advice!
This actually sets a precedent for halting or slowing innovation. All those methods you are looking for to "solve the problem" don't just come because the problem triggered an investigation, sometimes the solution was there, sitting in the corner, needing an advocate.

Spinalong not spiraling...silly autocorrect. Seems I can't edit a post tho.
My last 4 years of #hipstrings base-12 spiraling all finally plied, washed, and together! I guess I need to knit something...any ideas? #handspun #knitting
I forgot to note, yarn was from Woollens and Nosh.
Finished my first pair of socks for the year! One of these helped me realize that I can probably knit one sock in 10 hours (two four hour flights and some lunchtime knitting)...maybe I can do one pair in a day ๐
Missing the #hipstrings podcast #dadjokes? I've got you covered.
What better way to start my Blue Sky posts on fiber arts by showing that I went to #BattleBots while visiting #CES ... I'm doing this right...right?
