Fantastic work by @ritikac.bsky.social on this important topic. See below for a summary of the scoping review 👇
I'm in the Guardian today, writing about the question of overdiagnosis of mental illness. I argue we need to stop seeing this as a binary yes/no question - is overdiagnosis happening or is the increase real? - and acknowledge that multiple things can be happening at once

What does 'This is My Place' mean?
🏫 For Day 3 of #ChildrensMentalHealthWeek, we take the theme of 'This is My Place' and outline why schools are already a safe space for young people and how ReSET aligns with schools to support young people's mental health. Check it out below!
As I step into this new role, I want to say a particular thank you to Pasco Fearon and Essi Viding for an amazing four postdoctoral years on the @resetproject.bsky.social!
I’m also looking forward to contributing to the postgraduate courses at Anna Freud and supporting the training of the next generation of clinicians and researchers 🧠📚
I’m thrilled to be starting as a Lecturer in Child and Adolescent Mental Health across the UCL-Anna Freud partnership.
I’m grateful to be able to continue my research into identifying risk factors for mental health problems, as well as testing new interventions to prevent their onset and worsening.
In the ReSET Project we have taken a new approach to preventing mental health problems in adolescence. Read more about our school-based intervention in a new BOLD blog post co-authored with Laura Lucas
📣 New Blog is live on @boldinsights.bsky.social ! @dralexlloyd.bsky.social and Laura Lucas discuss the promise of school-based interventions to preventing teen mental health issues.

I am hugely grateful to The Huo Family Foundation for their continued support for this important and timely research.
In collaboration with Prof. Jonathan Roiser, I will be examining whether biases for viewing media from familiar sources (e.g., content creators, hashtags or genres) on social media, rather than exploring diverse types of content, might increase risk for mental health problems.
I'm delighted to have received a junior faculty grant from The Huo Family Foundation to investigate mechanisms linking social media use to mental health outcomes in young people.
