If you ever wondered why it's common for anime Digimon to be humanoids in their final evolution, Kenji Watanabe once explained that 4-legged characters are harder to animate for the anime and the toy department says they don't sell.
Bipedal Digimon are not only easier to draw, but also sell more.

In my opinion I don’t think they “don’t sell well” or are too niche, but because their sales don’t offset production costs, since producing a mold from scratch is very very expensive.

Toy production costs largely depend on the mold. Bipedal or humanoid figures are cheaper and easier to produce due to standardized body structures that allow mold reuse. Quadruped figures are usually more expensive because their anatomy is less standardized.

Every day when I think they can't surprised me anymore, something much sicker and degenerate comes out. I really wish that wasn't real but it is 😭
