When asked how she feels about cleaning up AI translations, @marianallanos.bsky.social said she gets hives. 😂 And no wonder! Such a creative translator and author! #SCBWI

Middle-grade novel RIALTO by Kate Milford

Middle-grade novel RIALTO by Kate Milford

Happy #bookbirthday to RIALTO by @katemilford.bsky.social!

I rode the wrong train for a very long time while absorbed in this book—its music and magic, its #Missouri setting, its celebrations of community and mental health, its lexicon... millefiori! runnels!

Read it! bookshop.org/p/books/rial...

A great thing about being a book nerd is that other book nerds will gravitate toward you (and you to them), and then you can give each other the books you're finished reading and talk about them over delicious food and beverages. It is a pretty good life to live.

Dublin has so many fantastic bookstores, but this might be my favorite!
Books Upstairs has a great selection of books and a wonderful cafe. (Ironically the books are downstairs and the cafe upstairs.) I recommend the carrot cake--and love the no laptops policy. They ask you to read a book instead.📚

Books on the 2026 Outstanding International Books (OIB) List were also presented in groups by theme. It's a marvel how themes cross borders while particulars of the books diverge and diverge.
