I'm still here! In fact, I'm not going anywhere. I'm going to assimilate the AtProto so we can be friends forever, and ever, and EVER!

I am a sole-proprietor based out of Port Angeles, Washington. I am a visibly queer techie in a small town. Every day, my existence is challenged. I know its unconventional to donate, but not illegal

My production server is going down today. There is a big face-lift on the horizon.
A screengrab of my fluxbox desktop on OpenSUSE linux
I've been playing with this heavy old laptop, but I love the outcome. #Fluxbox on #OpenSUSE #Tumbleweed is getting the absolute most out of the modest 4gb of RAM. The only upgrade is a SSD replacement of the mechanical drive. Good as new!
Linus Torvalds: Someone ‘more competent who isn't afraid of numbers past the teens’ will take over Linux one day
Finding the right Linux Distro is easy! You just have to know what you want before you begin, read an entire degree's worth of technical writing from no one particular source, and then you can literally just choose one! Easy.
OpenSUSE Tumbleweed is decent, but any linux distro will always be a hacked together OS compared to the brilliance of BSD 😈
I want to come up with an app that is slightly inconvenient, but mostly addictive.
As I learn Zig, I keep eyeing the source code of OpenBSD, and I just know I'm about to do something reckless.
On being a good A11y
Accessibility, or a11y, is the keystone of human achievement when it comes to internet technologies. Sure, you have a website that looks one way, but how does it operate with braille or a screen reader? Are you only reaching a portion of your intended audience?
I used to make fun of my old roommate for spending his NYE writing PHP, and what am I doing this year? Building zig on a laptop made in 2009 between breaks of working on my website (no PHP though). The irony is not lost on me.
Wishing everyone a Safe and Happy New Years! 🎉✨️
Sometimes, the easiest way to handle a responsive design problem is to hide the faulty design behind a kind message suggesting that the user rotate their phone. Thank you, CSS, for that!
And #Wix just doubled their prices. I pay $6/mo for the smallest #VPS on #Vultr while offsite hosting my code on #codeberg. So far in development, all of my pages are static, generated from the #AstroJS framework in my dev environment, and secure copied to production.
Looking at a C/ #Zig codebase.
My most ambitious goal for 2026 will be learning #zig, especially after reading about the lead developer's contempt for AI; especially because of the MIT licensing; especially because the of the open source nature of the project and awesome Code of Conduct to keep shitheads out. What's not to like?
2:00am is an excellent time for writing documentation, not for proofreading or finalizing by any means, but just laying words to the page and trying to make sense of your thoughts. Some of my best Magick happens when the world sleeps.
Merriam-Webster’s human editors have chosen ‘slop’ as the 2025 Word of the Year.
If you want to experience dial-up speeds in 2025,I highly recommend downloading your backups from Proton Drive on a T-mobile network on the West Coast of the US.
I've heard it said that the main downside to Linux is a culture of elitism, experts being condescending toward noobs who need help. I'm no expert and I can't be tech support for everyone, but I would be happy to help some people make the switch with no judgement of their technical skill or whatever.

That's good news for my business model
I blocked my first 40 IP addresses from my production server today. It's been up for like a week. Don't forget to monitor your log files!
All 3 for different purposes. My PCs operate better without Adobe tbh
A screengrab from a Windows 7 Desktop. On the left are icons of installed programs: Audacity, Avast Antivirus, Krita, LibreOffice, Notepad++, r3dfox, VLC Media player, GIMP, Inkscape, kdenlive, and Mixxx. In the center of the screen is a terminal displaying fastfetch with the specs of the computer. Some key notes are 4GB of RAM and two intel pentium processors at 2.2 Ghz each.
My latest project is restoring this 2009 HP Notebook to its #Windows7 glory in 2025. Why? Aesthetic, mostly. It's being held together by the efforts of the Internet WayBack Machine and #FOSS, but it does the job (probably better offline)
I've been playing with #OpenBSD a lot lately. I have kind of a minimal setup that I wanted to show off. I put on #fluxbox and built a pretty minimal menu while also figuring out how to modify the #xenodm greeter.
I renamed my profile to reflect my latest (oldest) business adventures. New logo coming soon, and it's going to be so fucking cool!
