The question is settled, this is going to funnel money to quacks and grifters to create a CDC-approved fake "study" that supercharges vaccine misinformation.

It's not just a public health failure, it's a terrorist attack on public health.

I want to see an absolute shit show tonight-Dems booing, calling out “liar” fist-fights and getting booted out of the house by jack-booted security. Show America how bad things actually are! #StateOfTheUnion

Tyranny requires your fear, your silence, and your compliance.

Democracy requires your courage.

I have a slightly old robot vacuum that I run daily in the morning, and instead of happily cleaning the apartment it beelines for my bedroom, locks itself inside and bangs around under my bed for 30 minutes until it dies.

This is the best gym mentality. Wanna lift big things? Be a big robot.

American Children’s Reading Skills Reach New Lows (Gift Article) With little post-pandemic recovery, experts wonder if screen time and school absence are among the causes.

And here we are. The disdain for education in this country—from underpaid teachers, to underfunded public schools, to book bans, to universities and professors maligned as the enemy—creates a population complacent to the dissolution of democracy.

Under the Sky We Make by Kimberly Nicholas PhD: 9780593328170 | PenguinRandomHouse.com: Books ** Los Angeles Times bestseller ** It's warming. It's us. We're sure. It's bad. But we can fix it. After speaking to the international public for close to fifteen years about sustainability, climate...

Your 'doom quote' for today:

"Beyond destabilizing the climate, humans are unraveling the web of life on Earth; we are the asteroid currently set on a collision course."

A beige structure with repeating 5 window segments stands over a snowy wall by the branches of a tree in winter. Snow is on the ground under the wall, and can be seen peeking over the roof of the building. White clouds wisp across a blue sky behind the structure.

🌍🌡📈 Update:
"If the 15-year warming trend leading up to Dec 2024 continued, global warming would reach 1.5°C by December 2025"

That implies a warming rate of about 0.4°C per decade!

Thanks to @tugberksamur.bsky.social for changing the 30-year extrapolation to 15-year.
