I think I saw an image somewhere of the 3d design, but the link to the website was broken. Thought of making my own in Blender. Maybe I should give it a go..

Dry fitting of the overwing missile rails for the 1/72 hasegawa Jaguar GR.1
The original plan was to use the more accurate Revell overwing missile rails instead of Hasegawa's. But too much hassle to make them fit properly.
No locator pins on the originals, so I made my own. Dry fitting looks good.
Next: I need to start painting the cockpit. #scalemodeling #histscalemodels
Yes, it's foil from a wine bottle I think? I can't remember.

A few weeks ago I got this urge to build desert storm aircraft. (Before all went crazy in Iran..) I always liked the nose art on those. So I bought 2 jags, a tornado and a buccaneer ๐คฆ๐ฝโโ๏ธ Now working on the 1/72 hasegawa Jaguar with parts borrowed from the Italeri kit.

Go for it! ๐ฉ๏ธ
Yes that is so true. In that case back to cutting strips of masking tape and build the shape. Or a masking set.
Canopy masking using tamiya masking tape and transparent packaging material.
I did some experimenting to make a difficult task less difficult. Canopy masking. Might not be an original idea, but it was original for me when it popped into my head
-put tape on canopy
-trace the frame
-put tape on packaging material
-cut out masking
-stick on canopy

๐ They should put a ban on the release of new model kits (or new shiny stuff for that matter ..) and help keep us focussed!
Thanks Fokkerdude!
Two 1/48 scale WW2 aircraft. HobbyBoss f4f-3 Wildcat, finished. Academy p-47d in progress.

Finally the 1/48 HobbyBoss f4f-3 is done! I am going from shelf queen to shelf queen... The p-47d is waiting patiently to be finished next.

Come over to the Light-side ๐๐!

The rigging of a 1/48 scale airplane (HobbyBoss F4F-3 Late)
I found something way more frustrating than rescribing... ๐ฐ
I think I will sell off all my bi-planes. All five of them!

Very nice bike! I've looked at quite some brands to replace my ancient bike, but haven't checked out Scott yet. Which model is that?
Masking a vac formed canopy with Tamiya tape.
My 15 years old Trek Fuel Ex mountainbike next to a singletrack in the woods.
It's been almost a month since I did some proper scale modeling ๐
Instead getting more and more into riding my 15 years old mtb again after 6 years not touching it. How I've missed the trails!
If I can keep this up I promised myself a new bike.
Now slowly getting back to the bench

Very nicely done!
Thanks FPR! ๐๐ฝ๐
You can try to stick some masking tape to those tiny buggers before you cut them from the sprue. At least you'll have a reference where they might be ๐
Thanks for the tip Dave. I feel a bit clumsy now without being able to fully use the thumb.

1/48 scalemodel of the F4F-3 Wildcat by HobbyBoss.
Today I finally decided to cut the vac-formed canopy for the Wildcat. It's originally made to fit the Tamiya kit, but I think it fits OK enough. It's been waiting patiently for it for many months ๐
But I felt courageous today. I did cut my thumb with the hobby knife...

Thanks Stef!

Detailing and cleaning of the rocket launchers and bombs for the 1/48 scale P-47D.
Drilling out the 4.5 inch rocket launchers. Bombs are cleaned and ready. Not the most exciting thing to do (or show), but still part of the process..

Top side of the 1/48 Academy P-47D painted Olive Drab with MTO markings on the nose, wings and tail.
Bottom side of the 1/48 Academy P-47D painted neutral gray with MTO markings on the nose and wings.
Close up of the cowling of the 1/48 Academy P-47D painted Olive Drab wit red MTO marking.
Close up of the underside of the cowling of the 1/48 Academy P-47D painted Neutral Gray wit red MTO marking.
Flat paint is done except for some touch ups. The Tamiya tape left marks on the paint. Next time de-tack some more! Also the blue tack left marks, but rubbing with a cotton swap fixed that. The colors have subtle shades, but the phone didn't pick those up unfortunately.

๐ so recognizable! I think 50% of modeling is fixing our own mistakes...
Polishing it with paper towel helped after drying. Then another few passes of OD. Fixed.
The otherside though... was a bit worse (the paint from my index finger). Careful sanding and respraying needed ๐ฉ
Paint on the gloves transferred accidentally on a scale model. Nooooooo... !
Ugh.. fck! ๐คฌ
paint on bottle > on fingers > on model

That's what masking is for. To hide things ๐๐๐ผ
The 4th 0.50 is molded in. Currently hidden underneath the masking.

Slowly building up the OD in thin layers. Trying to replicate faded OD under a hot Italian sun.
Tamiya OD with some drops of Desert Yellow thinned with X-20A and Mr. Levelling Thinner.
I will do some post-shading after this.
