Metal spools were standard packaging pre-mid 1970s, which made 620 size film compartment cameras "obsolete". As you know, the film was the same size.

Softer plastic is used now for 120 film, easier & more practical to trim. Keep it sealed & fresh in camera bag.

Thank you. I used to find 620 cameras at thrift stores for $5 or less in the 1980s. Most didn't know to trim the plastic spools of 120 mm film & it worked like a charm.
