Grateful for your time on this Laurie, I'm in this keynote now and your points about climate contexts are very interesting. I can see people writing lots of notes for their classes!

The following thread contains 201 open access articles, books, chapters & reports written and led by First Nations’ researchers. We write our own research across all areas. The order is random and ranges across disciplines, because of course it does.

Opinion | A new era of government censorship has dawned Donald Trump fancies himself a champion of free speech. Oh, really?

A new era of government censorship has begun.
It started with the silencing of scientific speech, when the admin blocked release of research on bird flu. But MAGA has also cracked down on other wrongthink—on race, geography (!), and of course Trump himself

Have you checked out the Playwrite font in Google Docs?

Playwrite is a set of school fonts especially for young learners.

Search for "Playwrite" in the fonts list.

Aussie educators, search for "Playwrite AU", and you even get versions of the fonts with guidelines!

You do NOT legally have to open the door for an ICE officer with an administrative warrant *no matter what the ICE officer says.*

Bryan MacCormack, the executive director of a New York-based immigrant rights group, was pulled over by CBP with two undocumented passengers in the vehicle. He knew his rights, refused to acknowledge their "warrant", and despite CBP threatening him, the agents eventually were forced to let him go.

The ‘what works best’ saga: Let’s turn the page on simplistic binaries By Melanie Ralph. Last year I had an amazing opportunity to take part in the University of Adelaide’s filming for their Classroom Confidence Micro-credentials course. These continuing education cou…

In my new blog post, I explore the ongoing binary in education which pits explicit teaching or direct instruction against discovery or inquiry learning, and call for a more nuanced conversation about pedagogy.

Going into 2025 thinking about innovation and sustainability. We want teachers to innovate, but it can burn us out. Not every designer can afford to be critical (/innovate). So what do we do next?
