Led by Frazer, this was a fun side project for the lab, including our three MRes project students in 2025 – @biomarkella.bsky.social, Charlotte and Shu.
New preprint! Current T7-based MNV reverse genetics can be performed by co-transfecting plasmids encoding T7 RNA polymerase and vaccinia capping enzymes. We see a further 100-1000-fold boost in titres by incorporating CD300lf-expressing BSR-T7 cells into this system. www.biorxiv.org/content/10.6...
Funded PhD studentship (UK students only) available on clinical proteomics, application deadline 22nd March for Oct 2026 start!
This project seeks to understand treatment responses to exacerbations experienced by people with CF using proteomics.

Led by Renata Fleith from the Sweeney lab.
Funded PhD opportunity through the DiMeN DTP: studying HEV proteolysis. You’ll be primarily based in the Herod lab at Leeds, and work with us on the use of MS-based proteomics to study proteolysis! www.findaphd.com/phds/project...
We are still buzzing from our show! Here’s some snaps of what you missed… in case you were wondering….
Huge thank you to the whole production team and the people who made this happen!

Certificate for a LEAF gold award for the centre for proteome research
The lab got a nice bit of news yesterday! LEAF gold!
We have projects available on single-cell proteomics, including methods development, and applications to antiviral development and resistance. If you have a strong background in proteomics and are considering an MSCA, get in touch! marie-sklodowska-curie-actions.ec.europa.eu/news/msca-op...
Nikolai and his group are based at Northeastern University and have been pioneers in the field of single cell proteomics.
He will talk about the methods his lab has worked on for multiplexed approaches in SCP, including plexDIA
As we get ready for the British Society for Proteome Research annual meeting in Liverpool (July 7-9th), we will start highlighting our amazing speakers.
First is @slavov-n.bsky.social who will talk to us about Biological and technological frontiers for single-cell proteomics.
