Nice day in Staffs yesterday…

Was working in Eastbourne so stopped in for the Bluethroat. What a cracking little bird! Shame about the Togs lying in the habitat though.
My thoughts are that it’s a bad photo. Can’t really see the identifying features. First impression for me says House Sparrow but that’s not based on anything other than “jiz”
If only this was in October! May be a chance of some yanks in the SW???
Nice piece on Midlands Today Kev👍🏼

Great Grey Owl demonstrating why they are so difficult to see. Excellent camouflage against the trunks of pine
Coolest thing I’ve seen on social media this year (Pic by Alan Murphy)

The rarity desert that is the midlands.
A few more photos of Mondays wagtail at Moss lane, St Helens. Wish I had a sound recording and / or DNA, but better photos would at least be a start 😆 #StHelensBirding #UKBirding
Second attempt at the Flint Hudsonian Godwit. After watching the Godwit flock get chased around by a Perigrine I was about to give up hope when the bird was relocated just of shore at Flint Castle. Superb views including a couple of nice wing stretches. ✅
Big thanks for the relocation 👍🏼

That might be the only way I could sell it to the wife 😂
Spent 3hrs looking for the Flint Hudsonian Godwit this afternoon. Efforts hampered by very strong heat haze and the fact that I arrived at exactly low tide 🙃 I watched the flock fly three times but couldn’t pick out the dark underwings at all. Might try again over the weekend.

10 out of the first 20 posts in my “Discover” feed are pics of cats. I’m not a fan of cats. Don’t think I ever indicated that I’m a cat person. Cats kill wildlife. How do I see less cats? 😂
@bsky.app
Yeh go ahead, thanks
@archieraven.bsky.social bags himself a first for Staffs👍🏼😂
First post on the new platform….Had a pleasant stroll from Admaston causeway to the Old Oak at Blithfied today. Highlights were Yellow Wag x5, Peregrine, Ruff x2, Redshank x2, GWE x1, Common Sand x2, Common Tern x30+, RP x8, LRP x10+, Dunlin x1, & Osprey. Shoreline is looking good for the waders.
