Snow is falling. The wind takes it dancing, a slow revolve until it kisses the ground & melts. My heart has saved a space for Spring to fill. The days are lighter but minus flowers. I grow restless for hope but the snow still falls, blossom that melts on my tongue.

A universe does not
#Revolve around your head,
Nor does it need your words
To breathe again or fend
Off the attacks of an
Aura larger than us

Museum description -

It is made from a sheet of silver & uses decorative silver bosses around the engraved design of a central cross. Between each arm are writhing beasts in the Scandinavian Urnes style. Brooches like this were highly unusual and precious pieces of jewellery, worn by the wealthy, both men & women.

The Urnes style onimals on the Bredfield Brooch are very similer to examples on the Crozier head possibly belonging to Bishop Flambard of Durham 1099-1128.

I loved being in that place
of perpetual fascination
you are a universe
of endless exploration

so many wonders
to see

but when stars
turned to void
I didn't know
how else to be

I was suddenly alone
nowhere
felt like home

the ground,
hard and cold
nowhere to go,
nothing
to hold

Several elements of body armour (body cuirass, shoulder guards, breast plates, and lower protection plates) from the late Mycenaean period have been found at Thebes; some bronze bands have been also found at Mycenae and Phaistos.[3] Bronze scales were found at Mycenae and Troy. In May 1960,[4] Swedish archaeologists discovered the earliest example of a beaten bronze cuirass at Dendra, dated at the end of the 15th century BC.[5] It forms part of the Late Helladic (LHIIIa) Dendra Panoply, which consists of 15 separate pieces of bronze sheet, held together with leather thongs, that encased the wearer from neck to knees.[6] The panoply includes both greaves and lower arm-guards. The arm-guard is unique but greaves, probably made of linen, are often depicted in late Mycenaean art. The few bronze examples that have been found only covered the shins and may have been worn over linen ones, as much for show of status Diane Fortenberry has suggested,[7] as for protection. Although we have only this one complete panoply to date, armor of similar type appears as an ideogram on Linear B tablets from Knossos (Sc series), Pylos (Sh series), and Tiryns (Si series).

The Dendra panoply or Dendra armour is a Mycenaean-era panoply (full-body armor) made of bronze plates uncovered in the village of Dendra in the Argolid, Greece. It is currently on display at the Archaeological Museum of Nafplion.

Tourists, guided by colourful signs, venture into a cavern. The group soon stops behind a singed rope line and gawk at an emerald dragon. Its fire-breathing trick #fascinates the crowd. Nowhere else had they seen a dragon roast a marshmallow, but strange times produce strange sights.

Water swirled dangerously. The captain shouted orders. Crew scrambled, resetting sails. Waves washed over the deck.

The ship sailed bravely on, guided by a small hand, across the #tempest of a rocking bucket of water, from which it's imaginary crew peered up, at a young, smiling face.

S. Charles Lee designed some of LA's most iconic Art Deco theatres, but don't sleep on his Fox Wilshire, currently the Saban Theatre in Beverly Hills. Built in 1930, it opened with 2,296 seats and included glittery silver & black decor and a majestic proscenium/wide-screen.

Common blue violet in spring bloom of purple petals and green heart-shaped leaves on the forest floor of Congaree National Park, the largest intact expanse of old growth bottomland hardwood forest remaining in the southeastern United States.

Like you, I wake
Each day to ugly news
On awful algorithms
Designed to distract,
Enrage and frustrate,
And then I recall
This common blue
Violet on the substrate
Of the largest remaining
Old growth forest
In the southeastern states,
And I think,

Beauty will survive.
Just wait.

“Maybe you’re actually frustrated with yourself and you project that onto me.”

“Do I hear deflection?”

“More like reflection.”

A lush green lawn illuminated by dappled sunshine is bursting with flowers. It is criss-crossed by two winding paths. Shrubs and trees line the paths, including cherry trees heavy with pink blossoms. In the distance, mountains covered in conifers rise up to a blue sky with a few thin white clouds.

Butchart Gardens outside Victoria, BC are incredible. We were lucky enough to catch the cherry trees in bloom.

A row of Nintendo arcade cabinets.

Starting with Vs. From Below on the left, an indie game by Matt Hughson, which has been pulled forward for servicing. It obscures Vs. Castlevania.

Next is Vs. DuckHunt, the Vs. Wrecking Crew, and finally Vs. Dr. Mario, who is having a little bit of a monitor issue.

If you live in a #seaside town, you probably have strong opinions about seagulls! Personally I love them, but I have to say that the sight of gulls following you, as you walk home from the chippy, is always unnerving. Watch the skies! #photograph #photooftheday #birdphotography

When I was younger, I also took a break after learning it was fake, but I got back into it after learning about all the intricacies. Ironically enough, it takes a lot skill and athleticism to make it look like you're hurting someone while actually not doing it. Other viewers focus on the storylines.

A beggar would humbly #entreat,
With a cap in his hand,
He would quietly stand,
Asking kindly for just a warm seat.
