Profile view of upturned head and front half of body of black, Double-crested Cormorant, floating in water with its breeding time, turquoise blue, wide open mouth and jewelled eye.
So cool to see the turquoise blue mouth of this Double-crested Cormorant during breeding season. Love its jewelled eye too! #birds #birdphotography
Zoomed in close up of a female Great Horned Owl perched high in a pine tree, looking down at me. Long ear tufts up, yellow eyes partly open, reddish face, white patch across its throat, broad chest, mottled reddish-grey body with lighter vertical stretch down its mid section.

Thank you for sharing this powerful and important message.
Profile shot of Tufted Titmouse perched on mostly bare white pine branch with a few soft green sprays of needles below and behind it. Characteristic pointy grey-blue head tuft and back, proud looking dull white breast, slight peachy wash on its flank, small round dark black eye and black forehead, blue legs and feet.
This adorable Tufted Titmouse sure made me smile. #birds #birdphotography #tuftedtitmouse

I registered for this free birding webinar. I have enjoyed Bob Bell’s past webinars and I’m sure I’ll enjoy this one too. Looking forward to it. 😃
What a cool thing for you to see in nature! Their feathers do make them appear huge!
Thank you, Marina! ☺️
Great Gray Owl with brownish-gray body, large facial disc and white bow tie, roosting with eyes closed on a bare branch with soft white pine in the background
I was incredibly fortunate to spend some quiet time admiring this beautiful Great Gray Owl #owls #birds #birdphotography
A tiny saw-whet owl perched on a horizontal branch of a coniferous tree, with a larger branch just above its head, creating a frame. It is in profile view, but has its head turned and is looking directly at me with its yellow eyes
Whenever I'm lucky enough to find a Northern Saw-whet Owl, they are usually sound asleep. This one was awake and active, looking around, especially straight down - something on the ground had its interest. #birds #birding #HamOnt #owl
Thank you, Bob!
Male King Eider duck swimming in blue water. Short orange bill, yellow face shield, full bluish-grey head cap, off-white rounded breast, dark brownish-black back with pointy “sails” up on either side, white flash on flanks.
This male King Eider was truly a sight to see! Delighting many, this sea duck that breeds in the high Arctic has been spending the winter off Tommy Thompson Park in Toronto. To me, it looks as though he’s wearing a little swim cap. 😁 #kingeider #ducks #birds #birdphotography
Multiple Redhead ducks with distinctive all red head, black breast and grey body in water with a few male and female round-headed Greater Scaups mixed in.
Side view of Redhead duck in water facing left in foreground with distinctive red head, black breast and grey body. Side view of Lesser Scaup facing right behind Redhead with black breast and grey body, white flanks, with a bit of a head tuft showing.
Sure were a lot of Redheads with some Scaups mixed in! #birds #ducks #birdphotography
Male House Finch perched on thin bare branch, white underbelly with thick brown streaking, brown back, reddish breast, vibrant rosy red head turned over its right shoulder, small conical bill with upper mandible turned slightly downward at its tip

Blue morph Snow Goose with white head and neck raised, orange beak, dark body, mixed dark and white flight feathers and white rump…floating in water in middle of four larger Canada Geese with black heads with off-white chin straps, black necks and brown bodies. One goose has its head and neck raised, swimming just beyond and behind and mirroring the snow goose, the others have their heads tucked in.
One of these things is not like the other… Beautiful blue morph Snow Goose with its Canada Goose friends, just off a Lake Ontario shoreline #birds #birding #birdphotography #canadagoose #snowgoose
Isn’t it something!

What a beautiful scene!! ♥️🧡
Absolute beauties! Congrats on seeing this dozen. 😍
A male pine grosbeak perched in a coniferous tree, in profile view looking over his shoulder to the left. He is mostly pink, with soft gray flanks and underbelly, and blackish wings with two white wingbars. Very handsome!
A beautiful male Pine Grosbeak, one of dozens that I saw yesterday. #Algoma #birds #birding #finch #winterfinches #pinegrosbeak
Pure white adult male Snowy Owl set against a blue sky background. The top of its wooden hydro pole perch is showing in the photo. The owl’s head is turned to face me so that its dark narrow eyes and tiny dark beak show against its white feathers
It was a treat to see my first all white, adult male Snowy Owl. Bonus time was when the blue sky came out. 💙 #owls #birds #birdphotography
