If you're wondering about the "Little Willie" jokes - they're from A TREASURY OF LAUGHTER (1946) I grew up reading. Such quatrains appeared in newspapers in the early years of the 20th century sent in by contributors. The one about skates appeals to me for it's succinct subtlety.
