Aotearoans looking for raucous rhyming funny #pukapuka for little ones, I urge you to buy Dazzlehands, written by Sacha Cotter and illustrated by Josh Morgan

If you're interested in writing for young people, I recommend browsing @alioop7.bsky.social's recent #kidlitchat posts. Alison is Acquisitions Editor at Pixel+Ink (holidayhouse.com/site/pixel-i...). Great advice here!

You know what happens to kids who grow up with unfettered access to books?

They read.

They think critically.

And when they have questions or feel uncomfortable, they turn to trusted adults in their lives & have essential conversations that help them grow.

Be that adult instead of banning books.

I made a grid of all the craft/writing-related books I've read in the order I read them because I was curious to see how my interests have progressed over time. I started writing PBs first, then switched my focus to MG, and I think that's reflected here. (1/2)
