I think to finish this semester off, all I need is a little time and structure. I value this class and the fun insight that it brings. You never know what you’re gonna type out. #209townhall @uhis209evenreal.bsky.social

If SME 4 could be collapsed into parts, that would help tremendously Splitting it up could help people focus on one thing instead of worrying about another. #209townhall @uhis209evenreal.bsky.social

Overall I feel the workload has been ok if not a little overwhelming. I have work from other classes that are amping up the final projects and all of it together feels like an overload. SME 4 especially feels like a lot. #209townhall @uhis209evenreal.bsky.social

One of the things that’s unexpected is the improvisation in making the draft. Originally I had a plan but as I made my draft, I improvised the video and had fun with the possibilities. I’d I had listened to the voice by following the plan, i don’t think it would’ve been as good. #hwa7 #listening

A third voice is what’s felt deep down. It’s not seen or heard but those two components make the third voice. The third voice is intuitive and keeps you thinking and feeling and is different from GPT as you’re making GPT respond compared to the third voice coming retroactively. #hwa7 #thirdvoice

Patty responds to surrealism for it to match to you authentically. It’s about matching to your preference and not to others. #hwa7 #surrealism

One strategy Patty used was using her apartment to make some of the shots in Painted Dreams. Making something is possible you just gotta find the components to give the environment an atmosphere. #hwa7 #budgetconstraints

It was the figurines for me. I mentioned in my painted dreams post but i thought atop motion was the coolest thing in the world when i was a kid. Hearing Patty talk about it reminded me of the memories. #hwa7#propsarenotjustprops

We are all artists. Patty "we already artists" is a reminder to keep making art. #hwa7 #interviewwithpatty

I liked what Patty said about questioning order. Art that's been or will be made shouldn't have order. Staying curious is an art. Also, Fast and the Furious is kind of a soap opera. #hwa7 #interviewwithpatty

Occasionally, a soap opera would appear on TV when I visited my grandma's house and it was interesting. I don't consume that medium compared to movies and such but it's a form of storytelling that matters. #hwa7 #interviewwithpatty

I thought both the question from Ashley and how Patty answered it were really interesting. Finding the right props can generate a feeling and the emojis did exactly that in season 2. #hwa7 #interviewwithpatty

Patty definitely got the mystique down during the Painted Dreams seasons. The videos had their own atmosphere that was effective. #hwa7 #interviewwithpatty

SORAS is an interesting topic when it was presented. This moment here in the video made me realize it's weird. #painteddreams

This quote that Patty included is captivating. Love can be used and exploited in a variety of ways. I think what Patty wants us to understand is that the love between people can be used in that way. #painteddreams

Dialogue being the primary and the reaction being the finishing touch for the soap genre is interesting. That's what communication is all about when discussing things with others and the soap genre using that as a focal point can showcase the power of words and communication. #painteddreams

People compare themselves to others but having your identity matters if you want to achieve a goal. Trying to become one person while achieving a goal can leave you feeling directionless. 2/2 #painteddreams

"You are Simba" is a great line in the context of the video. Labeling, comparing and grouping have become big in internet cultures. #painteddreams 1/2

You can draw who you want to become. You can write a plan to help achieve that goal. But as long as you chase your goal, a dream can become possible. 2/2 #painteddreams

The line with the song saying "Dreams become reality" is a line that lives within all of us and I think connects back to the title of what Painted Dreams is about. We imagine what our dreams can be but then, in order to chase them, we have to pave a way to achieve them. #painteddreams

This moment lasted a long time, but it is supposed to represent comfort. The wipes and the pajamas are things that can bring comfort when we're uncomfortable. could be reaching though. #painteddreams

At this moment in which Patty discusses how The Guiding Light is the longest running narrative is interesting. Average lifespan lives longer than The Guiding Light and I think a message here is that life is a narrative that media can't compete with. #painteddreams

starting season 1, and the first the plastic figurines line is something that i relate to. Growing up there was a lot of shamanic videos on YouTube of stop motion and that was something that i enjoyed when i was a kid #painteddreams

5- The lighting during the end was inconsistent, but that's just an effect of the time-lapse.

4- The pacing of the video shows all the angles of the glass and the shadow effects in the lighting. That structure of pacing gives it a repetition that keeps you guessing. The time then changes as it's sped up in the end

3- An essential shot of the video would be at 2:41, where there's a time-lapse of all of the still images being used to cultivate a moving image. This part being here paid off as we see the results; if it were different, the pacing would feel off.
