This is a European robin in my local public park, It has a bit of a problem perching as its right foot doesn't open, but it's very friendly and sits on anyone to be fed.

For #BirdOfTheDay here is a Eurasian magpie having several baths in the rare sun we had yesterday, it jumps in, throws water everywhere and then flies off, only to return a minute later and repeat the event, it does this multiple times before deciding its finished.

The sun was out yesterday and this stonechat really liked it's perch on top of a bush next to a large reed bed, it kept flying off for a second over the reeds then returning to the exact same spot.

Where I often walk there's a 10m long row of buddleia bushes that the chiffchaffs seem to love, there's always some hopping about in looking under every leaf for insects. This one decided to sit still and have a quick preen but had to do it behind some foliage. #birds #ukbirds

Peanuts are very fattening you know!
It's a 25mm hole, but seems to be a bit of a squeeze for the blue tit, who's probably looking for somewhere warm to roost over the winter. It went in and out 3 times and examined every part of the box.

Yes, they are Eurasian collared doves, although I am in the UK and here they were not introduced, they actually took about 100 years to spread slowly breeding their way from Asia across Europe so not classes as invasive here.

I attract way too many collared doves, every morning they descend on to the bird feeder, sometimes as many as a dozen and whoever said they symbolise peace has obviously never watched them, they squabble all the time!

Not only does this chiffchaff have #SkinnyLegs they also apparently need a good wash. It came back several times during the same day or maybe they were different birds, but it's rare for me to see any.

I put a large nest box up with a starling sized hole, I already have a blue tit one, of course the great tit and blue tit argue over claiming it.
