Whilst fondly termed robin redbreast, the robin’s feathers are actually orange. We didn’t have a name in the UK for this colour until the fruit started to be imported in the 14thC. It took another few hundred years for it to become the name for a colour. #ShortBeaks #BirdOfTheDay #birds 🪶
