The jagged teeth of the horizon
tear into a bruised and heavy sky,
spilling clouds like unspun wool
across the frozen granite.
Here is a slow collision
of stone and shadow,
where the peaks wait
for the light to desced

Streams I grasped at fire, a blur of heat slipping. Ran through woods, fuel everywhere, nothing caught. Scorched fingers falling into cold babbles, the stream swallowing what flickered. Feelings submerged, silt closing over, until all that remained was numbness.
