#WorldCurlewDay, a day when the curlew stands for all species caught in the climate and biodiversity crisis. I will take a walk on the moor after lunch and be grateful for their presence.

Ash dieback is having some odd disturbance effects in ancient woodland. The extra light under dying ash canopy is allowing these wild roses to go crazy, scrambling up the tree trunks to heights of 7 m, forming these funky columns.

Arrived early for the @batconservation.bsky.social SW 🦇 Conference. PippyG left on the front of the van last night. Greater Horseshoe and Barbastelle bats using the hedgerow of the campsite is a nice bonus.

I challenge your Buff Tip Moth with a buff-tipped bat who would eat your Buff Tip Moth! (honestly hadn't thought of their faces mimicking the ends of sticks but maybe that's the trick).🦇

Hibernating Brandt’s bats in a leadmine

Hibernating Brandt’s bats in a leadmine

Thought we’d be carrying out our last hibernation survey of the season today, but the Brandt’s are still in torpor. Tonight we’re surveying for spring swarming Brown Long Eared and Natterer’s bats🦇 down at valley level.

How a UK arms shipment to Israel was seized in Belgium An investigation has been launched after we discovered a suspicious military transfer from Britain to Israel.

We're supplying military equipment to Israel. And Labour cares so little about it that Belgium has to step in and stop the shipments. I guess Labour's too busy arresting protestors against the genocide?

I feel we should be talking a lot more about Israel government 's influence on the Labour Party & how Labour Friends of Israel wants to align our security & defence policies ( spending more money on weapons & surveillance ) with a nation currently engaged in genocide .
