Simon, we’ve spoken many times as you well know. Please don’t try and make out to your audience here that I don’t engage with cycling groups as well as basically every other transport campaigning and interest group. It really doesn’t get any of us anywhere good.

Please email me if you have anything to discuss or contribute. I don’t conduct policy discussions on social media as it lends itself to divisive conversations - as you have demonstrated.
I have talked to many people and groups over my four years on the assembly with many differing views on transport. It’s literally my job.
I always remain open to anyone contacting me to let me know what they think, but views are my own and informed by those of the Londoners I represent.
If you haven't watched @ellybakeram.bsky.social on the decline of London's bus services, the bad behaviour of London cyclists, far-dodging and its associated politicking and Tube industrial relations, treat yourself to an enlightening 20 minutes now. #london #truelondon #buses #transport #cycling

How can we make buses better?
Thankfully the #LondonBusAlliance are on hand to give us a few examples 💡 🚍

Today’s TfL multi-year deal is vital for ensuring our tubes, buses and roads keep delivering for London. I’ll be looking at the detail carefully.
No funds for Bakerloo and DLR extensions is a huge disappointment to many in South London in need of better transport links.

Impressive work @ellybakeram.bsky.social @carolinerussell.bsky.social 👏👏👏
The failure to regulate uneccessary and dangerous supersized SUVs at a national & international level is leaving city leaders with little choice but to take a stand and do all they can to end #carspreading on our streets.

Really enjoyed talking to taxi and private hire drivers’ reps this morning - so important to hear from those at the sharp end of transport policy.
Thanks to @gmb.org.uk, @iwgbunion.bsky.social, @adcunion.bsky.social and @unitetheunion.bsky.social, the LTDA, LCDC and UCG for their engagement!
Buses are the backbone of our transport network. They’re accessible, affordable, and reach places the Tube can’t - we must ensure they work for Londoners!
I welcome today’s call from the @ldntravelwatch.bsky.social’s Bus Alliance for urgent action.

“Plans to establish Great British Railways (GBR) offer an opportunity to fix the fragmented pattern of rail services across the UK. “We rightly value our brilliant transport network, and the tubes and buses run by Londoners, for Londoners. It is vital these arrangements don’t mean we lose out on the benefits that the changes introduced by GBR will bring. “Further devolution of rail services in London is needed, to ensure that the capital’s rail network can be governed, managed, and delivered in ways that best serve Londoners.” Elly Baker AM Chair of the London Assembly Transport Committee
The London Assembly Transport Committee has restated the importance of further devolution of rail services in London. Read the Committee response to the Government’s ‘A railway fit for Britain’s future’ consultation here: www.london.gov.uk/who-we-are/w...

New Report> The future of the Black Cab trade
Black Cabs could be extinct in 20 years without government support.
As costs to run & purchase a taxi rise, financial assistance continues to fall.
Our latest report unpacks how we support London's iconic taxis:

Elly Baker AM Chair of the London Assembly Transport Committee “The Committee recognises the significant impact that today’s announcement will have on Londoners, particularly those living close to Heathrow. “It is also keenly aware of previous work looking at the implications of a third runway on surface-level transport in the capital. “The Committee will be considering these surface-level access issues and asking how they can be addressed when it meets in March.”
The London Assembly Transport Committee has responded to the Chancellor’s announcement that the government will support a third runway at Heathrow.

Elly Baker AM Chair of the London Assembly Transport Committee “The Committee welcomes TfL’s consultation and is pleased that Londoners are being given the chance to say how pedicabs are regulated in the capital. “Your views can shape the fares that operators are able to charge, what types of vehicle are suitable to be pedicabs, who can operate them, and how they pick up passengers. “The Committee will carefully consider TfL’s proposals and give its views on the right regulation for London in the coming weeks.”

A really important first @londonassembly.bsky.social #PQT after the elections earlier this year.
Great to be grilled by the good people of Wandsworth and beyond at the wonderful Battersea Arts Centre.
Last week I spoke to Jeremy Kyle about @TfL’s moves to reign in dockless e-bike operators, and the need for new regulation from the Government.
It’s essential that new forms of transport do not obstruct Londoners on pavements or when accessing public transport.

A tremendously busy and productive time at the London Assembly last week.
I’m most proud of leading the transport committee in our roundtable speaking to 12 deaf and disabled Londoners about their experiences.
Thank you to Inclusion London for all their work on this - we hope to do it justice!
That’s a chance I can’t ignore!

Do Reform care about public transport? I asked @mayoroflondon.bsky.social today.
Despite posturing at #MQT, they have no policies on concessions for older Londoners, public transport affordability or the awful service on private rail.
Reform are not on the side of ordinary Londoners.
I recognise that era!
