We've reached a new level of corporate-AI hell, where you call in to get information, you think you're talking to human, and you realize its a robot because it keeps switching back into German rather than English.
And today I read this article on the attack on the British Library - fortunately, the cyberhumanities experts are looking into ways forward! informationsecuritybuzz.com/the-cyberatt...
On ransomware and under-funded GLAMs: 'At no point was the British Library particularly negligent or unprepared. Instead, it was hindered by vulnerabilities shared by the majority of cultural institutions. ...the attack [is] a warning to the whole sector.' informationsecuritybuzz.com/the-cyberatt...
I highly recommend this conference, which is a place of fertile exchange between Research Infra staff (in the DARIAH sense), and cyber security experts. Cyberhumanities is a burgeoning idea, and ties in to the importance of our RIs as "critical infrastructures" worthy of serious investment & care.

A framed print that reads “Infrastructure is something we owe to one another. - Meg Smith” Made by Amanda Wyatt Visconti! It’s printed in a beautiful pink-blue gradient.
🤩 Thanks again to @literaturegeek.bsky.social for immortalizing this line from the NEH wake session at ACH. If I have a scholarly motto, this is it — infrastructure is mutual obligation and mutual benefit. #DigitalHumanities #DHMakes
