I missed a stronger female representation on stage. Many women have played key roles in the #IberianLynx project, yet only 2 talks were led by #women and 2 participated in roundtables. I hope future events better reflect the diversity of the community driving this work.

As someone contributing to the genetic research on the #Iberianlynx, it was especially motivating to see genetics highlighted in so many talks — from evolutionary history to future #conservation planning. A reminder of how central genetic data has been (and will be) to securing the species’ recovery

International Congress on the #IberianLynx: Shared Vision, Coordinated Action has been an inspiring meeting offering a truly integrative view of the decades of work behind the species’ recovery.

Incredible to see how coordinated efforts helped move the lynx from Critically Endangered to Vulnerable.

🧬Last week at @ebdonana.bsky.social ’s Science & Tech Week, we walked students through #ConservationGenetics — from alleles and diversity to drift, fitness, and genetic rescue — using the #Iberianlynx in an interactive demo.
