Cedar-handled bottle opener. Because cedar is so much softer than the hardwoods I usually use, I modified my process a bit.

The handle is a bit shorter to reduce the max leverage that can be applied. I also flooded the handle with thin CA clue, hence the gloss finish.

Having a rough day so I posted a tribute to my wife.

My wife is making chili in the crock pot for tomorrow, and I'm making Cajun red beans and rice on the stove for tonight. The kitchen smells confusing. Wonderful, sure. But confusing.

Software used by 50,000 HOAs updates privacy policy after man discovered 'bad security practices' The wording of CINC Systems' privacy policy suggests it could sell homeowners' data. The company calls itself the "go-to software for HOAs and COAs nationwide."

They say "if you see something, say something" so I did, and it will result in better privacy protection for 50,000 HOAs, or about 8 million people in the US.

While I was parking I watched someone exit the lab then immediately go into the dispensary, presumably after several weeks of cannabis abstinence.

The tech assured me they rarely get cross-contamination from being next to the dispensary. Gotta love a tech with a dark sense of humor. 😂

The limb orientation was perpendicular to the bowl so the heartwood is on opposite sides of the bowl. The limb was cracked and the 1/8 inch crack is visible from the top of the bowl to halfway down and slanted to the left. It was filled with twigs and sawdust and bound with super glue. On finishing, the twigs show as cross sections running down the crack.

So, this happened last night.

Cedar bowl from limb crotch. It is sitting on the lathe but I know I need to up my photo game for store listings. The chatoyance in the heartwood is amazing but I do not know yet how to capture it well in a still photo. Maybe need to do video for that.

HOA manager is Key Community Management in NC, software provider is CINC Systems, national market leader. If your HOA uses Key or CINC and the community is age restricted I'd be happy to give you the form we used and some coaching. Don't make it easy for the data brokers.

My #HOA mngmt company's privacy policy says they can sell my data. Same company demanded scans of driver licenses for the yearly census. (Reqd for age-restricted community.) I successfully lobbied the Board to adopt an affidavit form attesting to age and notarized - no scans!
