#ShowMeYourKnits 🧶 One of my favourite cowl shapes is the Moebius. I find it sits neatly round my neck and doesn't get in my way. I designed The Wheel as a textured piece, of any width or length, in multiple yarn weights.

The backless dress became one of the signature style of the #1930s, redirecting the gaze. Gowns of the period are often more decorative at the back than they are at the front, a case in point this c1933 dress by Augusta Bernard @philamuseum.bsky.social #FashionHistory 🗃️🪡

A flat lay photo of a partially knitted colourwork cowl. The cowl has a taupe ribbing, and features one row of finished chili peppers and one row of partially knitted ones. Alongside the cowl are two red ceramic bowls with geometric designs, the one has a green chili pepper and the other a pair of chili pepper earrings! This is all shown on a taupe geometric carpeted background

And it wouldn't be #showmeyourknits cowl week without at least one cowl WIP!! 😁

So enter the Chili pepper cowl! 🌶️🌿 🪴✨ There is no pattern for this one but the chili pepper motif has been adapted from the Stone Knits' Spicy socks pattern, and is knitted in Elle Merino DK ☺️

A square colourwork knitted cowl that tapers slightly towards the top. It is knit with two gradient yarns of Hobbii Colorina yarn, giving the background an effect of striped red and orange. The Diamond-and-Circle filigree pattern is in a subtle contrast of blacks and greys.

I went to a (run down) flat viewing yesterday shown around by a handyman (70yo) who said that he hates Scotland and looked back admiringly at how rich Thatcher made Britain & now there's too much immigration.
I pointed out you only get rich off privitisation once, and we give v little to refugees 😑

My trip away was very productive!

The belt pattern is drafted to the final page. Belt 2.0 is well underway, and as I complete it I can verify the pattern writeup.

I've also made good progress on my latest cast-on, and am about 25% of the way through that project.

I retrieved my sewing kit too!

A heavy hearted message. If you want me to keep designing, please share, and buy a pattern.
Every share, like and save helps, but without sales, I need to quit.

Writing up the free knitted belt pattern is going very well!

I have the photos, diagrams, and tables in place, plus the abbreviation chart and about 60% of the instructions. Just knitting a bit of Belt no.2 to confirm some details before continuing the write-up.

The Edge of Darkness
(April 6, 2026) - As the Artemis II crew flew over the terminator, the astronauts described this boundary between day and night as "anything but a straight line." Crater rims along the terminator stand out as "islands" in the night. Giant chains of craters emanating from the 3.7-billion-year-old Orientale basin can be seen scouring the surface, stretching almost to the terminator. This tells a geologic story: these crater chains produced by the Orientale impact event mar the surface of the relatively flat Hertzsprung Basin (center of this image), which means that Hertzsprung Basin must be even older than Orientale!

A shorter video this month, as I was in a hurry to get to the train!

Having some issues with Mic noise, edited as much out as possible, but still not satisfied. Turns out it's very difficult to do this when living out of a suitcase (or 4)... 🥲
