Yellow species tulip 'Honky Tonk' blooming
Pink species tulip 'Danique' bloom with dark eye, pinkish-yellow petals.

🌱Sweet little species tulips I put in a small pot are blooming! Yellow one is 'Honky Tonk' and the kind of pinkish one is 'Danique'.
I've given up on regular tulips but these guys I can just throw in the parking strip and they are perfectly happy, year after year.
I thought I didn't like rhododendrons until I inherited this one. It is just beautiful. I think it might be 'Maharani'. #Gardenshour #Mygarden #Gardening
One of mine has - with a variegated leaf. But my bigger one with the darker leaf has yet to flower #GardensHour
There were a few yellow ones too, but only one left of these. The rest must have sold. If I had any faith I'd be able to keep it alive it would have come home with me 😂 instead I came home with Digitalis lutea #GardensHour
Only ten minutes left! #GardensHour
I’ve suddenly had a few! Very weird. And annoying for #GardensHour
Checking the buds on the rose bushes, and waiting for them all to open up in a few weeks: pink, purpley pink, yellow, orange! #GardensHour.
Some welcome sunshine over the weekend, and things are really starting to get going in the garden. Here's a very promising peony bud for #GardensHour
Question! Where does everyone recommend buying perennials online (+ alpines + bulbs)? I've never bought plants online before, as I'm always wary of either the plants not being good quality, or the website being dodgy in some way! Would love some recommendations.

Tulips and forget me nots at the side of the house plus Miss Katy panfur.
#GardensHour tulip time here plus Miss Katy saw her first lizard for the season (luckily she can’t catch them) 🌷🦎
#GardensHour some colourful tulips 🌷
Good idea really if you're doing your rounds and seeing a lot of nice gardens. #GardensHour
Herb pots enjoying a fresh spring start #GardensHour
Burgundy tulips and blue forget me bits with Miss Katy panfur at the side.
#GardensHour the forget-me-nots are starting to bloom
My grandad dug out all of these red tulips. Or so he thought. They came back with a vengeance. When we moved in, we got rid of them too. Or so we thought. Needless to say, I've given up and now I embrace them 😂 they're here to stay.

Tulips and daffodils in the front years garden beds with the house in the background
#GardensHour the daffodils are still doing well in my front yard. Probably their last perky week as the weather is really warming up.
Created a communal vegetable/flower bed with a couple of neighbors and their kids, without 'planning approval'. Let's see how long it takes for one of the spoilsports (HOA-like inner city flats) to notice and object.
We are feeling quite rebellious. #gardenshour
Hello!
Every day the garden gives joy. New growth, new buds and new surprises! The bees and butterflies are enjoying it too.
#GardensHour
Unusual colours! #GardensHour
I was VERY tempted by this in the garden centre the other day. A hardy Japanese Calanthe orchid. I've never heard of them, so decided to resist, as I wasn't sure it would like our clay soil. I'd probably have to put it in a pot, and I'm running out of room!

A group of pale pink Clematis flowers with four petals and yellow stamens
The nutmeg scented Clematis montana always reminds me of custard tarts #GardensHour 🌱
A glaucous grey/blue echeveria plant with a dense rosette of succulent type leaves and a slowly developing flower stalk
This echeveria is flowering, it isn't moving fast though, it's been working on that flower spike for at least a month. Not that I'm impatient or anything 🌱🌵

A small snail who thought about it , then apparently thought again, deterred by the wicked spines on this barrel cactus
Cactus spines with a soap bubble rainbow smear of (presumably) snail slime
A small snail who appears to have decided there are easier ways to get a bite to eat 🌱

A view of a garden with a pale blue shed with a pink Clematis growing above the door. There are lots of lollypop shaped shrubs, white flowers & tulips.
Every so often I train the rampant Clematis montana across a wire from the fence to the shed. It looks nice but getting into the shed can get a bit tricky sometimes! #GardensHour 🌱
Incredible! I remember getting eggs from mine years ago, and I know they often do juice and other similar products… but compost is new on me! #GardensHour
Yep, same for me 😞 #GardensHour
👋 #GardensHour compost sieving this weekend. Lots of sloworms basking in the sun. I love the rhythms of the gardening year.
