Greenland sharks can live up to 500 years, so a Greenland shark born in the Jacobean era would probably still be alive when the journal article it submitted during the Interregnum finally appeared in print.

I received something today. Even though I received this teaching award at HKUArts, I give most of the credit to the five years I spent at SNU CLS, where I grew so much as an interdisciplinary researcher and teacher. Forever in my heart ❤️. #샤대자전

We have a responsibility to protect Canada’s extraordinary natural heritage – from our lakes and forests to our mountains and coastlines.

Our new Nature Strategy will protect up to 2.4 million km² of our lands and oceans — and mobilise new capital for sustained conservation efforts going forward.

I find it really tiring to wake up, open BlueSky & find a lot of random people insulting me for posting someone’s interesting & harmless AI project

Of course: No I don’t think this replaces historians. Yes, a small AI model like this is limited. No, you are not actually talking to the past. Blech.

As I skim the Song Yuan xue'an, I am convinced that the orthodox presentation of Zhu Xi as the "great synthesizer" of Neo-Confucianism is complete nonsense. In fact, the exact opposite is what ended up happening historically.
