The morally bankrupt Trump administration has partnered with another morally bankrupt authoritarian to declare an unprovoked war on Iran, already killing scores of civilians.

We need an immediate vote from Congress on a War Powers Resolution. Then articles of impeachment.

Vermont libraries resist: What my quest to knit in every public library in Vermont has taught me about how libraries are upholding democracy, community, and civil rights Vermont libraries resist: What my quest to knit in every public library in Vermont has taught me about how libraries are upholding democracy, community, and civil rights Join UVM Libraries and the Center for Research on Vermont for this lively talk on libraries, knitting, and upholding democracy in challenging times! (For a sneak peak, check out Hannah's Knitting in Libraries substack.) Dr. Hannah K. Miller (they/them) is an Associate Professor of Education at Vermont State University Johnson where they prepare educators to enter the profession of teaching. Their research examines the process of social change in public systems of education, with a focus on privilege, power, justice, and liberation. Hannah’s current research project, TeachOut Vermont, is a critical participatory action research project that aims to build social and professional networks for queer, nonbinary, and transgender teachers. During a 2024 sabbatical, Hannah began a quest to read, write, and knit in every public and academic library in Vermont, a project they hope to finish in 2026. Hannah lives in Morrisville with their wife and son where they enjoy playing wingspan, knitting, birding, and gardening.

What can you learn from knitting in every public library in Vermont? VTSU Johnson professor Hannah Miller has plenty to share about how these spaces support democracy, community, and civil rights.

Hannah is a truly amazing speaker and communicator. Go to this event if you can!
