The Navajo Nation, the largest Native American reservation, faces high prevalence of RA & shortage of rheumatology providers. A 12-week, culturally grounded telementorship program improved primary care providers' knowledge, confidence, & self-reported clinical behaviors in RA diagnosis & management

This study highlights a targeted training program for primary care providers on the Navajo Nation that builds capacity, expands access, and addresses disparities in rheumatology care.

Fantastic, super clear explanation by Dr. Choo of NIH grants process: takes “tens of thousands of reviewers annually on more than 1000 meetings with study sections like the one I should have been sitting in Thursday.” Even if/when the freeze ends, can’t just be restarted with a snap.

Health Disparities are real & lethal. Research on ⬇️ health disparities & improving health among impacted pops is critical. The NIMHD (NIH Institute that focuses on ⬇️ disparities) website remains. But if you search NIH Health Disparities, the page is gone. Chilling.
